Ayana
Privacy policy
Ayana is a private space for approved family members to share books, photos, milestones, and song suggestions. This policy explains the information needed to provide that space and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
- Account and access: Your email address, phone number if you use phone sign-in, display name, sign-in credentials, and your membership in a family space. Authentication providers may process information needed to sign you in.
- Family content: Books and reading details; photos, videos, captions, comments, reactions, songs, and post dates; and information entered in My Info, including milestones, birth dates, and growth measurements. This content may include information about children that an approved adult chooses to add.
- Location you choose to share: When you add a place to a post, Ayana stores the place label shown in the composer. You may enter it yourself or let the app suggest it from device location or a photo's location metadata. If the device cannot resolve a place name, the suggested label may be rounded coordinates. Review or remove the label before posting.
- Embedded media details: Photos and videos you choose to upload are stored as selected. Depending on the file, they may contain embedded capture dates, precise location, or other device metadata. Removing the visible place label does not remove metadata already inside the file.
- Support messages: Information you send to our support address so we can respond to your request.
Information generated while using Ayana
Ayana stores account and content activity needed for features such as feed reactions and notifications. If you enable push notifications, it stores a device push token and your notification preferences. When error monitoring is configured, Ayana sends limited crash and performance diagnostics to Sentry to help us fix problems. Diagnostics may include technical device and network information; Ayana is configured to avoid sending family content in these reports.
How information is used and shared
We use this information to authenticate members, provide the family library and feed, deliver requested notifications, respond to support, and maintain app reliability. Family content is available to approved members of its family space; members with administrative access can manage that space. Content is not intended to be public.
Supabase hosts Ayana's accounts, database, and private media storage. Bird delivers sign-in text messages and may process your phone number and the one-time code needed for delivery. Google Books and Open Library receive book searches or ISBNs you submit for lookup. If push notifications are enabled, Firebase Cloud Messaging and the device platform's push service process delivery information. Sentry processes diagnostics when configured. We do not use Ayana content for advertising or sell it to advertisers.
On supported Apple devices, optional caption ideas are generated on the device. Photos are not sent to a caption service for that feature.
Storage and protection
Ayana limits access to family data by account and family space. Media is kept in private storage and shared with approved members through time-limited links. No online service can promise absolute security; contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
Your choices and requests
You can choose what to add, edit or remove supported content in the app, and turn off optional location and notification permissions in your device settings. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and associated information, email support@aaron.software. We may need to verify your identity and coordinate changes to content shared with other family members. Some information may remain for a limited period in backups or where retention is required for security or legal reasons.
Children and family content
Ayana is intended for approved adult members of a family space, not for children to create their own accounts. Adults who add information about children should share only what their family is comfortable making available to other approved members.
